Background
Azibo is a financial services platforms for property owners to help them manage and grow their business.
I lead Azibo’s rebranding over the course of two weeks alongside the design team.
This involved collaborating with stakeholders to define the brand statement, creating a style guide, redesigning the landing page, and developing an evolving illustration library.
Existing Branding
Across the platform, there was a lack of visual consistency, making Azibo an unrecognizable brand. A mixture of metaphors and visual cues can introduce confusion to the user and cause navigation issues.
I also wanted to bring more visual vibrancy to bring attention to priority paths to help users learn patterns faster.
Defining the Brand
Alongside stakeholders, we lead a workshop to help the company understand their demographic and how to market to them. At the end of the workshop, we pull the highest voted values and form a brand statement.
“At our core, Azibo is a playful brand that makes the hard work of being a landlord easy. Think of us as your cool, slightly rebellious friend who's always trying something new but still appreciates simplicity and ease of use.
We provide a seamless, well-crafted experience that everyone can enjoy whether you’re new to being a landlord and need someone to show you the ropes or a seasoned pro who’s looking for the latest and greatest.”

Mood Board
When building the mood board for Azibo, I took guidance from our highest-level values: trustworthy, playful, and simple. I took inspiration from children’s book illustrators such as Charly Harper (bottom row), Maja Anderson (top left), and Mary Blair (top right).
Their unique approaches bring warmth and fantastical elements, while remaining anchored in realism and illustrating straightforward stories.

Building a Distinct Style
I created a library of different textures and watercolor marks to create a unique style
Usage of hand drawn and imperfect shapes were implemented to balance the precise geometry across the existing platform’s UI.
Adding a warm human touch to soften the current UI.
A system
I used the existing design system’s color pallette to create unity between the illustrations and UI.
Illustrations could be added to the design system and evolve with the evolution of the product.

Storytelling
When concepting illustrations for the project, I took the time to brainstorm various ways to creatively tell an engaging story while also bringing delightful moments to the user’s experience.
Azibo Does the Heavy Lifting
I used hands as a recurring motif to represent Azibo's role in assisting users in managing their properties. This imagery not only emphasizes the supportive nature of the platform but also highlights the connection between users and the tools they utilize for property management.
